The Types of Dentures Available
The materials your dentures are made from will depend on your unique situation and your budget. We’ll detail all possible options so that you can decide how you would like to proceed in getting your denture.
-
Acrylic dentures – Made up of two pieces, an acrylic denture is a long-term solution. It can be extremely breakable, so we recommend caution when handling your denture.
-
Chrome dentures – This sturdy denture is an all-in-one rather than being made up of separate parts. You may be able to see some metal, however, when you smile or speak.'
-
Flexible dentures – This denture fits snugly thanks to an elastic that clips on. The material that goes over the gums is a translucent pink so that it blends in perfectly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I a candidate for dentures?
If you are missing multiple teeth or all of your teeth, dentures may be for you. You’ll need to have healthy gums to support them. The best way to discover if they’re right for you is to come in for a consultation.
What costs are involved in getting dentures?
The cost of your denture will depend on whether it is full or partial and which materials you select. We’ll go over your costs at your consultation after you decide on your type of denture so that you know exactly what to expect.
What is the process for getting a denture?
At your first appointment, we’ll take impressions and gather the data that our local laboratory will need to create your denture. Once they’ve completed it, it will be sent back to our practice. You’ll return for a follow-up where we’ll fit your denture and teach you how to care for it properly.
